Our Food Pantry Program
About us
As a means of providing for the community, Franklin Community Center offers an emergency food pantry, stocked with non-perishable items, fresh produce and bread and hygiene products. The Food Pantry is staffed and administered by both staff and volunteers and provides valuable meal supplementation while helping those in need maintain their independence and dignity. Operating through support from donations from generous community members, businesses, churches and civic groups, we also receive a small stipend through the Regional Food Bank of NE NY and The Food Pantries for the Capital District. What sets us apart from other agencies is that we have a unique approach in serving those in need. There is not income, family size or demographic requirements attached to accessing our services, thus making the pantry available to anyone in need of food assistance. This year, our Food Pantry has provided over 10,000 children, adults and families with food assistance. While the community has been, and continues to be extremely generous, there is simply an ever-increasing demand for food, household supplies and non-perishables.

On average, we fill about 20 shopping bags a day for orders, equaling approximately 80-100 bags being used every week. If you have extra grocery bags (cloth or paper), please consider donating them! You may drop them off to our Donation Drop Box or if ordering if more convenient, you can find a choice of reusable bags on our
