Having beds for your children to sleep in is something many of us take for granted, but for numerous families served by Franklin Community Center, being able to afford furniture isn’t always an option. That is why we offer a furniture distribution program to those less fortunate, which allows them to get the furniture items they need, completely free of charge.
With our efficient system, we serve as a liaison between donors and people in need of specific furniture items. Those wishing to donate gently used furniture can call our office at 587-9826 to be placed on our ongoing “donation”list. We then look through our “needs” list to see if there is a match. Once a match is made, the donor will be given the contact information of the recipient, and transportation arrangements are made at the donor’s convenience.
Because the needs within our community are constantly growing, cooperation and follow-through by donors and recipients is imperative in making this process a success. We apologize, but Franklin Community Center cannot provide storage or transportation for any furniture items. However, the system we have in place has proven to be a “win-win” situation time and again, as donors can get rid of their old furniture while helping a good cause.
