Franklin Community Center FAQs

The main administrative offices are located at the Arpey Family Community Center building at 95 Washington Street. The hours are Monday through Friday, 9am – 4pm.

The Free Store accepts donations BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Food Pantry: Fresh, refrigerated, frozen and non-perishable items. See Wish List for current needs. We cannot accept: severely dented or rusty cans, boxes with stains, open items, food without labels, home prepared food, and items 9 months past Best by, Use by, Sell by date.

Free Store / Distribution Center: Gently worn and in-season clothing, small household items (linens, dishes, kitchen items, bathroom items, etc), jewelry, shoes, limited children’s toys. 2 bag maximum per week may be enforced during high volume times

Project Lift: Individually wrapped snacks, school supplies, art supplies, etc

Furniture: items in good condition only – must call main office (518.587.9826) for information. Furniture items are not accepted for drop off.

Project Lift – students in SSCSD Elementary Schools & 6th grader in Maple Avenue Middle School- through school contact

Furniture Assistance – anyone in need

Holiday Assistance – families in Saratoga County with children ages 2-14

We follow the Saratoga Springs City School District inclement weather policy. If the school has a delay, is closed or closing early our programs will do the same. Visit our Facebook page for updates during inclement weather.

*Project Lift will be cancelled on any day the SSCSD cancels after-school activities

A brief Intake Form must be completed and proof of residence is required. In cases where proof of residence in not available, assistance will be provided.

Franklin utilizes on-street parking, please pay attention to the parking restrictions November – April.

The Food pantry has a small parking lot located on East Beekman Street as well as on-street parking on East Beekman near the food pantry entrance.

The program consists of a database of furniture donors and a database of people looking for furniture. We try to find a match and call the donor and give them the person’s name and phone number. The donor calls the person to make further arrangements.
