Franklin Community Center hosted 3 corporate and community volunteer groups during the month of April, and each provided support across a variety of our programs and services.
- 4 nurses from Saratoga Hospital helped at our Food Pantry by relocating our backstock inventory and reorganizing and stocking our shelves. Their efforts helped make our storage space more functional for our programmatic volunteers to pack emergency food orders.
- 5 members of Grace Fellowship assisted our Food Pantry by unloading and organizing the Hoffman Car Wash Food Drive. April’s donation event was the most successful one yet – bringing in over 5,300 pounds of items. We’re grateful for the volunteers’ help with getting all of the items unloaded, date checked, and shelved.
- 9 Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Saratoga Springs helped launch the Food Pantry Community Garden for the season. They joined 2 volunteers from the FCC Garden Crew and transformed the space by completing spring cleanup, raking, relocating beds, cutting down tree limbs, turning our compost bins, and so much more! Their efforts not only helped get the garden ready for the season, but also cleared space for the Food Pantry’s new walk-in cooler to be installed. FCC was able to acquire the cooler due to financial support from the Rotary Club, making it a full circle experience.
