Community In Action: Monthly Volunteer Group Roundup

September 2026

Franklin Community Center hosted 4 corporate and community volunteer groups during the month of September, and each provided support across a variety of our programs and services.

  • 11 students from Skidmore College’s Student Government Association organized FCC’s first ever Hannaford Parking Lot Food Drive. They set up outside of the Wilton Hannaford to collect items for the FCC Food Pantry and spread the word about our mission by speaking to shoppers and through their creative signs. They collected 937 pounds of items!
  • 5 members of Saratoga Regional YMCA’s Togetherhood Committee volunteered at the Saratoga Springs School District’s Operations and Facilities Department annual golf tournament. They assisted with registering golfers, sold raffle tickets, ran contests throughout the course, and made sure the event, which raises funds for FCC’s Project Lift program, ran smoothly.
  • 7 employees from AstraZeneca supported the FCC Food Pantry while visiting Saratoga Springs for their work conference by purchasing items and assembling them into 50 Snack Packs, which will be added to the program’s emergency grocery packages.
  • 1 representative from Saratoga Hilton, a frequent volunteer partner, helped us complete a long-standing project by painting the exterior of the Food Pantry doors “Franklin blue”, helping to match the facility to our iconic branding.

Thank you to all of our corporate and community volunteer groups this month! We could not complete this hard work and carry out our essential programs and services without you! If you’re interested in launching a corporate volunteer project with FCC, email [email protected] for more information.
