Franklin Community Center hosted 6 different corporate volunteer groups during the month of June, and each provided support across a variety of our programs and services.
- The Saratoga Federal Credit Union hosted a donation drive for personal care and hygiene items for the Food Pantry. They collected over 100 pounds of items from the community! These Hygiene Kits were then added to client grocery orders, providing needed relief to families.
- 9 staff members from State Farm volunteered at the Food Pantry Garden, and helped bring new life to the area by planting herbs, veggies, and flowers, as well as completing work on a new flower bed.
- Athleta provided 4 volunteers who brought donated snack items, which were then used to assemble Snack Packs for the Food Pantry. Snack Packs are regularly needed at the Food Pantry, as they are added to client grocery orders for extra special treats.
- 4 members of Starpoint Church stopped by to complete landscaping tasks at our 95 Washington Street administrative building. They weeded 2 very large flower beds and completely removed a tree and unwanted overgrowth from the utility area, helping to make our building look its best and function better.
- Liberty ARC and 3 of their individuals also purchased snack items and assembled them into Snack Packs, helping to replenish the Food Pantry shelves with extra goodies for families and children.
- Also this month, FCC began hosting individuals from AIM Services. Their groups will join us weekly to help with long-term cleaning and maintenance tasks at our properties. We are excited to be able to provide the groups the opportunity to expand their skills as they prepare to enter the workforce, and we are grateful for the help they provide us.
