Franklin Community Center hosted 2 different corporate volunteer groups during the month of September, and both provided support for an urgent need at the Food Pantry.

Fingerpaint completed an off-site volunteer project with over 25 staff members taking part during their corporate conference day. They purchased and donated hygiene and personal care items and packed them into 300 hygiene kits. Each kit contained a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, razor, q-tips, soap, wipes, laundry detergent, and a roll of toilet paper. All the items were packed into a reusable drawstring bag – helping our clients even more! The hygiene kits will go into orders from the Food Pantry, and will help hundreds in our area.
Salvatore Dental organized a hygiene and personal care item donation drive, and collected 4 boxes of items totaling over 300 pounds. Their staff members and clients donated items, and even raffled off a company-branded YETI to those who participated! All of the items will be added to orders from the Food Pantry, supporting so many in our community.

Hygiene and personal care items are always an urgent need at the Food Pantry – our clients are unable to purchase them using SNAP or other benefits, and they are oftentimes simply too expensive. Our Food Pantry is also not able to purchase them through the Regional Food Bank, leading to a consistent need for them. Thank you to Fingerpaint and Salvatore Dental for helping us bridge that gap!
