Franklin Community Center (FCC) is proud to announce the success of its recent partnership with local restaurants during Saratoga Springs’ beloved Chowderfest, with proceeds benefiting FCC’s Food Pantry. This cherished Saratoga tradition draws crowds from near and far to sample the best chowder creations, and this year, FCC invited restaurants to take part in something even bigger—by donating a portion of their proceeds to help feed neighbors in need.
Hometown restaurants came through, and thanks to their overwhelming generosity and the incredible support of the community, vital funds were raised to help provide food for individuals and families facing food insecurity.
“We are incredibly grateful to the restaurants that stepped up to support our Food Pantry this year,” said John Falco, FCC Food Pantry Manager. “Their generosity made a real difference, and with more participation next year, we can have an even greater impact. Chowderfest is the perfect opportunity to bring the community together—not just to enjoy amazing food, but also to give back in a meaningful way.”
Every dollar donated through this initiative went directly to FCC’s Food Pantry, which serves thousands of local families. As food prices continue to rise and more families seek assistance, FCC remains committed to ensuring no one in the community goes hungry.
Looking Ahead: A Bigger Impact for 2026 Chowderfest
Building on this year’s success, Franklin Community Center is already preparing for next year’s Chowderfest with a goal of increasing restaurant participation and raising even greater awareness about food insecurity in Saratoga County. More partnerships mean more families will receive the support they need, and FCC is eager to collaborate with additional restaurants to make an even larger impact. FCC is especially grateful to the Discover Saratoga team for their incredible support in spreading this important message and helping us make a lasting difference in the community.
“It’s simple!” says Mary Beth McGarrahan, FCC’s Development Director. “Restaurants can commit to donating all or a portion of their proceeds from Chowderfest—and we’ll provide the volunteers to help make the day a huge success.”
