A senior stretching a fixed income. A family balancing rising grocery costs with rent and utilities. A neighbor facing an unexpected hardship. These stories arrive at our Food Pantry every day and our team is there to respond.

Our Mid-Year 2026 Food Pantry Report paints a powerful picture of the growing need in our community. During the first six months of 2026 alone, the Food Pantry distributed 2,848 grocery packages to 7,042 individuals—already more than half of the total households and individuals served during all of 2025. If these trends continue, we are on pace to exceed last year’s record levels of service. Behind those numbers is an extraordinary effort by our staff, volunteers, and community partners. More than 94,000 pounds of food have already been donated this year through retail partners, farms, the Regional Food Bank, and generous individuals, ensuring our shelves remain stocked with nutritious food for those who need it most.

As demand continues to rise, so do the challenges of operating within a space that was never designed to accommodate today’s volume of clients, volunteers, and inventory. While our team has found creative ways to maximize every square foot, the current layout limits efficiency, storage capacity, and the overall client experience.

We believe our neighbors deserve more than simply access to food, they deserve an experience that is welcoming and respectful of their dignity. That’s why FCC is exploring opportunities to create a more functional and client-centered Food Pantry. Improved storage, better workflow, enhanced accessibility, and a more welcoming environment will allow us to serve more families efficiently while preparing for the continued growth we know lies ahead. The need is growing. Our commitment is growing with it.
